bah humbug

It doesn't feel like Christmas is just two days away. In fact, I have to constantly look at my calendar to prove it to myself. I just don't understand it. I finished all my Christmas shopping, have been listening to Christmas music for a month, my parents' house is being cleaned for my brothers' arrivals (that's right, it was not in any sort of order for mine and Marla's appearance) and there are all of my favorite holiday treats in the kitchen. So why doesn't it feel like Christmas? Maybe because it is nearly 70 degrees outside. But I don't think so.
This year, we decided to go with a forest of trees instead of just one tree. I'll post pictures later. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, but it is want Daddy wanted and we convinced Mom that it was her idea. (I'm going to make a great lawyer.) I'm also almost done with Matt's present. I'll post pictures of that later too. I'm extremely nervous that he won't like it. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
All for now, more later - I have quite a bit of no-posting to make up for...

we went out last night...

Well, not really. Last night, we (or at least I was) were studying our hearts out for the much feared BA exam. Yes, it was that terrrible. But hey, what's life without a bit of predictability right?

The title of this blog refers to the song I am dancing to in my kitchen on a Tuesday night. Yep, you heard me right - dancing. I have two exams left. I am nowhere near the finish line, but I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The worst is over; I can see the rainbow behind the clouds. That deserves some dancing. Not to worry, I checked the parking lot, Mr. Alabama and the little dog neighbors are gone, as is the lady that lives below me. My computer is cranked up.

My biggest concern right now is what to make for an upcoming Christmas party.

Tomorrow, the weight will be heavier, but I'll be like Scarlett and think about that tomorrow.

See you later guys, I'm just a troubadour....

sometimes even a bubble bath doesn't help

Well, it is 1:30 in the morning on the day I take my second of five exams. Yep, I have an exam on a Saturday. I know, I know, life isn't fair. Let's face it, I'm no more ready now than I will be seven hours from now so why not take a break?

It snowed in Baton Rouge!! For about twenty minutes. and then faded back into rather desolate rain. Don't get me wrong, I love the rain. But seriously, who doesn't love snow more? That's twice in two years that it has snowed in BR. I'm impressed. I think it is the law school gods taunting us because we can't go play in it. Just wait till after law school. I'm going to drive down to BR every time in snows so I can play in it. On the steps of the law school. Just to make new law students jealous. Yes, I am petty. Did I mention I have an exam on a Saturday.

That's okay though. After tomorrow I'll only have three left!! Next Saturday, after my last exam (yep, I have two Saturday exams! worst exam schedule ever), I'm going to go Christmas shopping and clean my apartment!! I'm so excited that I'm slightly afraid of myself. I hope I don't do anything drastic. Like clean my dishwasher. But seriously, the outside is stainless steel and shows fingerprints like nobody's business. I can't wait to find something that will help me get those off. It also shows water marks and cloth marks. It is an OCD nightmare.

If you see me sometime in the next seven days and I am rude to you, please forgive me. Take this as advance warning. I have become quite mean. I also tend to say things that I really shouldn't say. If I do, I am sorry and will make it up to you as soon as I get out of my finals funk. In fact, just send me an email and let me know. It doesn't have to say anything, just let me see your name and I'll add you to my list needing apologies. So far, Matt's name is on it like five million times. I'm not sure how he puts up with me. Don't get me wrong, I may have a few choice words once I see your blank email, but I will of course, apologize for those too. Professor Carrol's name is also in the list. Though, she may not get an apology. We're not the best of friends.

Okay gang, I better get back to it. No real rest for the weary until December 12th at 12:35.
